1st WRA long distance race

8 May by Jeremy Cryer

morning all. as most of you know the first long distance race is this Sunday.

the masters are going over to do this and anyone that is keen are welcome to join us.

I will need to know asap who will be attending, we will need to sort crews and boats will need to be loaded after school on Friday. once I get all names in, I will post crews

a few thing you need to know about this event.

- $5 per head (cash) paid on the day to me.
- you need to make your own way there and back.
- we will only be taking big boats (quads and octy) unless odd numbers happen.
- every rower needs a pfd in the boat.
- the race starts under the horohoro bridge 11km south of karapiro, we will need to meet there at 7.30am to rig. (at the latest)
- safety briefing for everyone is at 8.30am
- there are boats that row up to the start from karapiro so the race doesn’t start till they are all there and ready.
- to assist getting the boat trailer to the finish line it would be great to have someone offer to take my car and boat trailer to the finishing, this saves us having to get it there b4 the race. (let me know is someone is happy to do this)
- once the race is done all the boats and oars will need washing before loading. once loaded everyone can take there mum out for brunch.

please message back on team app who wants to give it a go asap, it’s a good morning Row.

sorry for lateish notice for this.
